These portfolio companies introduce themselves
- Aiir Innovations
Cassandra Loor (Co-founder, COO)
Aiir Innovations has developed an AI maintenance tool that enables partially automated inspection of aircraft engines. Aiir's software recognises defects on the engine's rotor blades, making the inspection process less labour-intensive. Borski Fund is investing in Aiir partly due to its particularly diverse team. - S4 Energy
Leo Visser (Chief Executive Officer)
S4 Energy is a group of companies that designs and supplies electricity storage systems to third parties. Additionally, they manage their own installations in Almelo and Heerhugowaard, which provide stability to the electricity grid. Their patented KINEXT flywheel technology is exceptionally suited for rapidly exchanging large amounts of power with the electricity grid. Furthermore, it is being used for the electrification of container cranes in the Port of Rotterdam. - Bomhofsplas Solar Park
Jaap Baarsma (Project Director)
The Bomhofsplas floating solar park is located on a sand-winning lake near Zwolle and is one of the larger floating solar parks in Europe. With a surface area of no less than 18 hectares and 72,000 panels, the solar park generates electricity for 7,000 households. The park is owned by a consortium of the local energy cooperative Blauwvinger Energie, Energiefonds Overijssel, and a private investor. - Geothermal Energy Koekoekpolder
Radboud Vorage (Project Director)
In 2012, a number of vegetable growers from IJsselmuiden switched to sustainable geothermal energy; the greenhouses have since been heated with water pumped up from a depth of almost 2 kilometres. This has reduced the natural gas consumption of these horticultural businesses by 70 to 90 percent. The geothermal source produces as much heat annually as 3,200 households use together.
