Borski Fund makes new femtech investment
Borski Fund, along with DSM Venturing, Calm/Storm Ventures, and three angel investors, has invested $€10 million. in other. With this investment, Inne will expand its hormone technology from fertility to perimenopause.
Inne offers women greater insight into hormone levels and, consequently, their health and fertility. Thousands of women across Europe use Inne's minilab, which measures progesterone levels using a saliva biosensor.
Perimenopause
Inne is now expanding its progesterone tracking to perimenopause through an exclusive US partnership with Phenology, the new women's health brand from the team at Hologram Sciences. Women will soon be able to use the mini-lab to track hormonal changes during perimenopause – the early stage of the menopause in which hormone levels begin to decline. This marks the first time this will be possible with a personalised at-home testing device.
Nice femtech investment
Fund Director Simone Brummelhuis: ‘We are delighted to invest in inne and its exceptional team led by Eirini Rapti. The product is best-in-class for at-home hormone level testing. In a short period, inne has proven itself to be a leader in quantified self-solutions for women. We are excited about the many use cases, from fertility to contraception and perimenopause. At Borski Fund, we invest in femtech and AI solutions because they offer enormous opportunities for all women.’
Test stress levels
In addition to the expansion into perimenopause, Inne will also add the ability to analyse stress with a special cortisol tracking strip. Persistently high cortisol levels lead to a decrease in oestrogen levels, which can cause weight gain, night sweats, sleep problems and mood swings. By tracking cortisol levels, women can adjust their lifestyle and thus improve their long-term health. This can be particularly useful if they are trying to get pregnant or if they want to manage perimenopause symptoms.
Over the
Eirini Rapti founded inne in 2017, to provide women with technology that allows them to gain insight into their body's hormonal levels. With inne's biosensor minilab, women can measure their daily progesterone levels with a daily saliva test. Saliva measurement with the minilab has been proven to be as accurate as a laboratory progesterone test. Inne is currently in the process of being certified as an official contraceptive.
