Newion leads \u20ac2 million investment round in Dexter Energy \u2013 for an accelerated energy transition<\/h3>\n

AMSTERDAM, March 18, 2021 \u2013 Dexter Energy, a fast-growing startup that helps energy companies in Europe optimize their energy portfolios using AI, has received \u20ac2 million in a Series A investment round led by Newion, an early-stage investor in B2B software companies. Existing investors PDENH, Stephen Asplin, and Andreas Gelfort also participated in this round. <\/p>\n

The energy transition is changing the electricity market. Whereas previously a select number of fossil-fueled power plants supplied electricity on demand, green energy now flows onto the grid whenever the wind blows or the sun shines. To manage this, companies with large-scale energy generation or consumption must increasingly anticipate volatile weather and market conditions. <\/p>\n

\"\"Dexter Energy addresses the need to reduce uncertainties resulting from the energy transition. Using AI-driven software, Dexter Energy predicts energy flows and market movements, allowing companies to optimize their generation and consumption. Customers also gain control over increasing imbalance costs caused by the energy transition. As a result, emission-free electricity sources gain a stronger market position, and fossil sources can be phased out sooner. <\/p>\n
