H2-GO contributes to the solution for grid congestion and the greening of transport.<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<h6><strong>Smart Energy Hub<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>H2-GO is using the financing from Energiefonds Overijssel to produce and sell hydrogen on a large scale in the region. In addition, H2-GO used the financing to build an electrolyzer in collaboration with the Drents Overijsselse Delta Water Board. This installation uses renewable electricity to convert water into hydrogen and oxygen. The electrolyzer will thus become part of the Smart Energy Hub at the Hessenpoort business park near Zwolle. By matching local supply and demand and by switching smartly between renewable electricity, gas (including hydrogen), and heat, the hub will reduce the load on the electricity grid.    <\/p>\n<h6>Willem Dubbelman, Investment Manager at Energiefonds Overijssel:<\/h6>\n<p>&#8216;With the financing of H2-GO, the fund contributes to solving grid congestion and greening the transport sector, as hydrogen is a sustainable fuel alternative. Furthermore, the construction of the electrolyzer in partnership with the water board is an innovative solution. Not only does this reduce energy consumption in Hessenpoort, but there is also a strong indication that the use of the produced oxygen leads to a reduction in nitrous oxide emissions, an even more harmful greenhouse gas. This is equivalent to a saving of 22.2 TJ of energy and a reduction of 1,841,132 kg of CO2 emissions per year. The electricity required for the hydrogen-oxygen installation is already produced entirely from green sources and is therefore not included in this calculation.
