Energiefonds Overijssel, one of the funds under the management of StartGreen Capital, recently published its annual report. It showed that the fund is well on its way to achieving the sustainability goals set by the province. For instance, the fund has financed no fewer than 18 impact entrepreneurs in Overijssel and saved 372,000 tons of CO2 emissions. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Great milestones<\/h6>\n

2023 was a year of great milestones for the fund. For example, they were able to finance 18 Overijssel companies and projects for a total amount of more than 50 million euros: a new record. The fund’s total portfolio has a value of nearly 350 million euros. <\/p>\n

372,000 tons of CO2 emissions saved<\/h6>\n

The fund now has the potential to make more than 135,000 households in Overijssel more sustainable. That is more than all the households in Enschede and Deventer combined. The fund’s financing also resulted in a combined reduction in CO2 emissions of over 372,000 tons. Furthermore, they had the scoop of financing their first major hydrogen project: H2-GO. <\/p>\n

Expectations for 2024<\/h6>\n

Fund Director Anouk Blum: ‘In 2024, we will continue to make Overijssel more sustainable with full energy. We expect to finance the same number of companies as in 2023. The emphasis will be on relieving the pressure on the electricity grid, including by stimulating the development of batteries. In addition, much attention will be paid to stimulating onshore wind and the sustainability of real estate.’<\/p>\n
