On February 7, 2023, StartGreen is organizing the first Investors Summit: an exclusive investor relations event. It will be an interesting afternoon focused on impact investing, featuring engaging speakers and ample networking opportunities.
The event will take place in the Mauritszaal of the SDG House at the KIT. There, Willem Schramade will deliver a keynote on sustainable investing. Subsequently, 4 impact companies from the portfolios of Borski Fund, PDENH, and Energiefonds Overijssel will present themselves with an elevator pitch, after which they will be interviewed by Katja Keuchenius.
The program is as follows:
- 3:45 PM – 4:15 PM: Arrival with coffee and tea.
- 4:15 PM: Welcome by StartGreen founders Coenraad de Vries and Laura Rooseboom. During their welcome address, they will share their plans for the future.
- 4:30 PM: Keynote speaker Willem Schramade on the importance of investing in impact companies and projects.
- 5:00 PM: Journalist Katja Keuchenius interviews managers of portfolio companies active in one of StartGreen’s three impact domains*: the energy transition, inclusivity & diversity, and circularity. Where do the opportunities lie and what are the challenges?
- 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Drinks. Following the plenary program, we look forward to toasting to a promising future with the attendees. During the networking drinks, there will be plenty of opportunity to speak with other impact investors and entrepreneurs.
Note: in view of the international participants, English will be the official language during the event.

Cassandra Loor (Co-founder, COO)
Aiir Innovations has developed an AI maintenance tool that enables partially automated inspection of aircraft engines. Aiir’s software recognizes defects on engine rotor blades, making the inspection process less labor-intensive. Borski Fund invests in Aiir partly because of its exceptionally diverse team. - S4 Energy
Leo Visser (CEO)
S4 Energy is a group of companies providing the design and delivery of electricity storage systems to third parties. In addition, they manage their own installations in Almelo and Heerhugowaard that ensure the stability of the electricity grid. Their patented KINEXT flywheel technology is ideally suited for exchanging high levels of power with the electricity grid for short periods. It is also used for the electrification of container cranes in the Port of Rotterdam. - Bomhofsplas Solar Park
Jaap Baarsma (Project Director)
The floating solar park Bomhofsplas is located on a sand extraction lake near Zwolle and is one of the larger floating solar parks in Europe. With no less than 18 hectares and 72,000 panels, the solar park generates electricity for 7,000 households. The park is owned by a consortium consisting of local energy cooperative Blauwvinger Energie, Energiefonds Overijssel, and a private investor. - Geothermal Koekoekspolder
Radboud Vorage (Project Director)
A number of vegetable growers from IJsselmuiden switched to sustainable geothermal energy in 2012; since then, the greenhouses have been heated with water pumped from a depth of nearly 2 kilometers. This has reduced the natural gas consumption of these horticultural businesses by 70 to 90 percent. The geothermal source produces as much heat annually as 3,200 households use combined.
About Willem and Katja
Willem Schramade is Head of Sustainability Client Advisory at Schroders and author of the book Sustainable Capitalism. As an independent financial advisor, he encourages companies to invest their money as sustainably as possible. He is also involved as a researcher and fellow at the Erasmus Platform for Sustainable Value Creation.
Katja Keuchenius is a freelance journalist specializing in sustainability. Her articles appear in publications such as Vrij Nederland, Binnenlands Bestuur, Trouw, and the FD.
