Energiefonds Overijssel co-finances the sustainability upgrade of 88 social housing units in Delden

12 February 2026

In Delden (Overijssel), 88 social housing units owned by housing association Wonen Delden are undergoing extensive renovation and sustainability improvements. Energiefonds Overijssel (EFO), one of the funds managed by StartGreen Capital, is providing a significant financial contribution to this future-oriented renovation.

The homes are being upgraded from energy label C to label A++. This is achieved through improved insulation, ventilation, (hybrid) heat pumps, and solar panels. Energiefonds Overijssel is contributing to these sustainability measures through a senior loan of €3 million.

With this financing, the homes will become more energy-efficient and comfortable, while energy costs for residents will decrease. This not only works towards CO₂ reduction but also towards affordable and high-quality housing in the region.

Local impact on multiple levels
The sustainability upgrade of existing housing stock is essential for achieving climate goals and combating energy poverty. This project demonstrates how regional funds can contribute to:

The investment aligns with the broader objective of Energiefonds Overijssel to enable sustainable projects in the province that create both ecological and social value.

Deploying capital where it makes a difference
Through specialized funds, StartGreen Capital supports projects that contribute to the energy transition and regional development. By carefully structuring capital and linking it to concrete challenges, financing gaps are bridged that would otherwise delay sustainability efforts.

This investment underscores how capital can work towards future-proof solutions in the built environment.
